TISTA is seeking a dynamic Senior Engineer to join our team.



  • Expected to provide hands on software development for a large data project, hosted in a cloud environment
  •  Provide architectural support and oversight to projects within a team
  •  Provide expertise in the development of estimates for EPICs and User Stories for planning and execution
  •  Be able to help others break down large team goals into specific and manageable tasks
  •  Be involved and supportive of agile sprint model of development, helping to enforce the practice and the discipline
  •  Be a mentor to junior and mid-level engineers
  •  Enforce high-quality coding standards and practices via reviews and by demonstrating this in their own work
  •  Able to work efficiently and pro-actively across engineering teams to enable us to deliver on our goals of loosely coupled, adaptable, scalable solutions
  •  Able to perform as an effective member of a geographically dispersed team across multiple time-zones
  •  Have a good understanding of where their project fits into the larger goals for engineering and adapts their work so that the priorities of the systems they are creating match those of the organization



  • Must have 7+ years of IT experience
  • programming expertise with Java and Scala 5+ years
  • Demonstrated expertise with Spark and Hive
  • Scripting experience with Python and Unix Shell Scripting
  • Experience with one or more software version control systems (e.g. Git, Subversion)
  • Experience software development on a team using Agile methodology
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools and techniques (e.g continuous integration, Jenkins, Docker, Terraform, Bandit, SonarQube etc)
  • Strong experience with AWS; including EC2, RedShift, EMR, S3, Cloudformation and more
  • Preferred experience with big data tools (e.g. MapReduce, Databricks)
  • Experience with Avro, Parquet files and SQL
  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise software specially in Healthcare 
  • Preferred domain knowledge in Medicaid & Medicare  


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
